In all variations, pay attention to:

  • The balance between release and engagement
  • The position of your freely moving larynx
  • The position of your freely moving larynx
  • Regulated breath pressure and elasticity through optimal support
  • A deep breath flow with movement extending to and from the pelvic floor
  • A healthy, fundamental singing posture
  • Tongue position (the tongue may optionally extend slightly out of the mouth to create space)
  • Breath width and a sense of openness and freedom in the throat
  • Nasality (when it is helpful, when it is limiting)
    After the exercise, apply these variations to the mixed voice passages in your repertoire.
